Marmomacc exhibition meets design.

The new challenge for Lithos Design is getting design to cater to the needs of architecture. On the occasion of Marmomacc, Lithos Design is presenting a genuine architectural project at the cutting edge, offering a charming composition of modular stone elements (hewn stones) which are produced in series and can be arranged together in a variety of solutions to build walls, corners, openings and architraves.

The planning and production of the hewn stone encapsulate all the major features of design: originality, styling, functionality and industrialisation.

The exhibition will take place in Verona between 21st-25th of September 2011.

The Stokke chair was designed in 1965 and has since then been hard to find. It was made by the Danish designer Jens Quistgaard (1919 - 2008) and is now relaunched.

Nomono is a series of office furniture for open plan offices. They have integrated cable boxes, covered sides and several compartments for storage. The furniture is designed by Fredrik Mattson.

According to Cosentino the color of the year is orange. They have developed a bench top and a kitchen cabinet in this color. The material is Silestone, which consists of 90 percent quarts.

Exchangeable colors

The Contrast cups are developed by the industrial designer Hans Christian Gjedde. The soft and colorful coat of silicone can be changed to another one in another color.

For the Milan Design Week the design company Nendo made a uniform collection of furniture for the bathroom. The design is minimalistic and throughout the whole collection they have used light wood shaped in sharp lines and hard corners.

Børge Mogensen's old collection in new shape

Børge Mogensen was a danish designer who lived between 1914-1972. His collection 22-series from 1963 consisted of a wing chair, armchair, stool and sofa in black and untreated leather. The 22-series is now relaunched in velour.

A steel "spine" stabilizes the structure

Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou has designed "Spine", a collection of indoors furniture. A distinct y-shaped steel piece in the load-bearing parts stabilizes the structure of the item and gives the collection its name.
