Fredrik Färg’s collection Succession “The family that I did not know I had" is going to the Big Apple.

The series of furniture is inspired by the forms and spirit of primates and hominids. The process of evolution and the development of an upright stance are mirrored within the work. Stools, chairs and ottomans are layered with an innovative composition of materials dressed with leather or textiles.

The young, Swedish designer will have parts of his collection exhibited at the RH Gallery in New York during the exhibition called Immortalize, from May 10-June 19 2011.

According to Cosentino the color of the year is orange. They have developed a bench top and a kitchen cabinet in this color. The material is Silestone, which consists of 90 percent quarts.

The Contrast cups are developed by the industrial designer Hans Christian Gjedde. The soft and colorful coat of silicone can be changed to another one in another color.

For the Milan Design Week the design company Nendo made a uniform collection of furniture for the bathroom. The design is minimalistic and throughout the whole collection they have used light wood shaped in sharp lines and hard corners.

Børge Mogensen was a danish designer who lived between 1914-1972. His collection 22-series from 1963 consisted of a wing chair, armchair, stool and sofa in black and untreated leather. The 22-series is now relaunched in velour.
