The Stalb Lamp is a simple steel structure, curved to effect a soft shape while still maintaining its original color and hard edges.  It stands on a cast-concrete base, also of its original color; the shade, a cube of hollowed-out, recycled plywood, is enhanced only with a satin lacquer for a slight sheen.  

The Lamp utilizes the truest features of the materials - the hard and soft lines, the natural color - to create designed lighting that is at once balanced and dichotomous.
